Stall 9th June – 22nd June (Two weeks)

Cornmarket Street & Bonn Square

The two weeks stall in June was as good as before. We had beautiful linen scarves (see picture below) at £10 per two and one for £6. They were sold out within the two weeks and now we are getting more for the next stall week (21 – 27th July) at Bonn Square / outside Westgate shopping centre.

The new collection of gemstones and freshwater pearls also had a warm welcome from customers. The gemstones and the freshwater pearls accessorises we have were most one-off pieces. Many of them were hand-made by my friend Alfonso who is a native Italian. Alfonso has his own very artistic sense of design. Our customers found it amusing to see their necklaces, bracelets and earrings done at the stall. We even had customers come with their broken necklaces or earrings to ask for repairs. We offer this free of charge. So now a new service has been added to our little stall in Oxford.

You might not be aware of our neighbour : - the flower stall next to us in Bonn Square kept us in good company. My delightful assistant, Ms. Zhi Dan from China had been a wonderful help. Alfonso, Zhi Dan, my sister Huan and Ping as well as my mother in China worked as a team. I would like to thank all of them for the support I had. Finally I want to thank all the customers for their shopping with us and hope to see them again very soon in July.

Stall 17th Mar – 30th Mar 08 (Two weeks)

Cornmarket Street / Ship Street

We are delighted to be coming back to Bonn Square for one week from 26th May. Looking back to our time in March,our two weeks from 17th March – 30th March at Bonn Square for the first week and and Cornmarket Street for the second seem to have happened only yesterday and this report is later than we intended. My main memory of that March stall is that it snowed, rained and was extremely cold . One day in Cornmarket Street, within 3 hours, it snowed 6 times. We had our umbrellas in our hands, yet still could not keep snow from covering the table lined with accessories. In Bonn Square, the weather conditions were much the same.

In spite of this, sales were extremely good. Old customers returned again and again to see us; new customers were very pleased after paying their first visits; even lovely baby girls posed for us in the beautiful necklaces their mothers had bought : ). It was so nice to see everyone who visited our stall. We were fortunate to have people loving our products. Here are the pictures from those two weeks.

We are now nearly in summer. Beaded silky dresses are going to shine beside the beautiful gemstone accessories. We will see you again in the last week of May in Bonn Square. The new selection of fresh water pearls, gemstones rings, necklaces, linen scarves…will give you a cool surprise.

Stall 31st Dec - 6th Jan 08 (one week)

The cold weather has made it difficult for this week, yet we still had a lot of fun and interests in our small stall. We now have a new green parasol. It gives us and our products shelter and makes the stall look much nicer : )

Because of the winter weather we did not display evening dresses or ball gowns, but our customers have already ordered their made to measure dresses. Already two ball gowns have been sent back from China:

Heather, a student from Oxford University, had this dress for her college summer ball, she chosen her own colour in wine red : )

Rhea ordered her dress on 22nd December for her 18th birthday on 12th January. What a short time!! But She had it made on time. She kept the dress as a top secret to her family and friends. How surprise for them to see Rhea in this stunning dress at her birthday party? I can imagine.

After this week we will have a long break until 17th March. I shall take this opportunity to go back to China to look for more natural stone gems and other unique products. Please wait for the debut of these and other exciting new products in March.

Stall 17 Dec - 23 Dec 07 (one week)
Bann Square / outside Westgate Shopping Centre

It has been a fantastic week for us at the stall in Bonn Square. We have never done any sales before like this and it was great to see so many new faces as well as meeting old customers. What was best for us was to offer every customer good value for money gifts and goods. We were so pleased to see that the customers left our stall with a big happy smile on their faces. We believe the gifts and presents they bought will also bring happy smiles to the faces of their loved ones.

I would like to thank all the customers who visited our stall in Cornmarket Street and in Bonn Square this year. We hope you will keep coming and in return, we will keep our promise by always offering good quality, good value for money goods for all you. We enjoy meeting you and without you our stall would be very boring for us. Also, thank you to the ones who ordered made to measure dresses from us this year. I hope you all enjoy having the lovely pieces our factory made for you.

I would also like to thank my two stall assistants: Hong and Li. They worked through the week outdoors in such cold weather, but still they wore big smiles and, as you will have seen, were lively and cheerful every day. I am very grateful for their help. The excellent week's sales could not have been made without them.

Finally, I would like to thank the officers of the Oxford City Council Street Trading Department. They welcomed our business project, helped us understand the regulations of street trading and, of course, granted us our trading licence.

Next year, we would like to be seen not just as a stall mainly selling party dresses, evening dresses and ball gowns, but a place for a wide variety of interesting and decorative products and for hand-made crafts, all offering excellent value for money, and all making very interesting presents, assuming that you are not tempted to keep them for your personal use! We had another fantastic week of sales at Cornmarket Street. We were very fortunate to have such good weather, no single rain drop for 7 days : ), although it was getting colder. Our stall was busy most of the time. Here are the pictures from this week : ) : ))
